Team Rocco Taco
As if having children isn’t already hard enough, having a child with medical issues is torturous. You feel helpless having to be strong for yourself, your family and most of all your child, all while falling apart inside. Always keeping a happy face and positive outlook.
Most people do not know that right before Christmas last year we were floored when our little Rocco Taco was diagnosed with a rare blood disorder called Pediatric Neutropenia. His body does not produce a component of his total white blood cell count, the component that fights infection. We were extremely fortunate to have been referred to the NYU Pediatric Oncology/Hematology Group in Mineola. Not only are they informative and thorough but the interaction with our son is incredible. To say this situation has been humbling is an understatement. These people are angels and the kids are SUPERHEROS!!!
It’s our time to help support them, and support the cause to raise awareness for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders.
My family is putting together a team, Team Rocco Taco. We will be walking September 22nd at Eisenhower Park at the 18th Annual CCFK Family Walk to help raise awareness. These little heros are inspiring!
